Pro Bodybuilding
One of the goals in life for Phil Heath is to be among the best bodybuilders that have ever been involved in the sport. His efforts so far are sure to put him down in history as one of those leaders. His nickname is The Gift because this sport seems to come so naturally to him. Yet those that work with him will tell you he puts a tremendous amount of effort into his workouts and into his performance every single day.
Many people are just starting to realize the talents of
Phil Heath even though he has been in the sport for many years. However, in 2010 he placed 2nd in the Mr. Olympia contest and that thrust him into the spotlight. Suddenly his name and picture were all over fitness magazines and on the internet.
Some people would be disappointed with a 2nd place slot, but not Heath. He also took 2nd place in the Arnold Classic for 2010. To him, those placements have just helped him to gain experience. They have also helped him to focus his workout and goals for the next year when he can move into that #1 position for both events. Many experts believe he has the talent and the mindset to make it happen.
Prior to being involved with bodybuilding, Heath was involved with sports in both high school and college. He was attending the University of Denver with a basketball scholarship. He attended there from 1998 to 2002. Once that was done he started training at a gym where there were many bodybuilders. He quickly made friends with some of them and tried their workouts.
Heath found that he loved the workouts and enjoyed being around those individuals. He also found a new type of discipline in terms of working his body and his muscles. As he saw results in terms of burning fat and gaining muscle it only inspired him to do more and more. His friends offered support, encouragement, and helped him to develop a customized workout regiment for himself.
He also enjoyed watching bodybuilding competitions so he made the decision to start being involved with them. Serious training involving a specialized diet started for him in 2002. His goal was to be ready to compete in a contest in Colorado in 2003. He won several firsts in categories but didn’t win the overall first place. One of the disappointments for him was in 2003 when he missed the entry deadline for the NPC Junior Nationals.
It was a reminder to him that if he was going to do well in bodybuilding he had to be more disciplined with such matters. Later in 2003 Heath won the Mr. Colorado title. In 2004 he signed up for the NPC Junior Nationals in time and took first place there as well.
There are numerous appearances scheduled for Heath in 2011. They include various bodybuilding events, muscle camps, and even one in Kuwait to help with inspiring the troops. If you are interested in finding out where he will be you can get all of the dates and locations from his website.
